I don't know about Lain. I don't think I'd list 
it as a worst anime, but I can't argue in favor 
of how much sense it made as a whole. It did 
intrigue me, however I think I watched it at the 
right time. (For whatever reason, I wound up 
watching the whole thing in two sittings, each 
starting at about 1am. I'm much more receptive to 
weird anime between 1am-5am, and if I ever watch 
Evangelion, it will have to be watched then.)

However, I have yet to find even a Lain fan who 
can explain the whole thing at the end with the 
sister. . . as well as several other things. I 
don't remember all the things I wanted to ask 
about since I haven't seen it for so long. I was 
going to show it to my husband, but then things 
(better left unstated here) happened in his life 
and I worried about him seeing several of the 
scenes in the show just then. I never did suggest 
it again since I have better things to do than 
rewatch it. I don't regret seeing it once, but 
don't recommend the series.
