The first Psychic Force was for the PS1, and you
can find it pretty easily on Ebay. It doesn't
look nearly as flashy compared to new stuff as it
did when it came out (keep in mind it came out a
long time ago), but I still have fun with mine.
Next was Psychic Force Puzzle Taisen for the PS1.
You'd need a mod chip to play it since it's a
Japanese-only release, but it's not got any real
story in it anyway. It was only a cutsey Puzzle
Bobble style game done with the Psychic Force
characters. (I'm such a nut for Puzzle Bobble
stuff too that my hubby paid A LOT to get me this
when it first came out. *^_^*)
Lastly are Psychic Force 2 and Psychic Force
2012. These are pretty much the exact same game
with only a couple different tweaks. Psychic
Force 2 is for the PS1, but is a Japanese-only
release (so you'd need a mod chip again). Psychic
Force 2012 is for the Dreamcast. Either one is a
good bit more impressive looking than the first
game (and the outfits are MUCH nicer looking),
but the thing really sings on the Dreamcast. The
Dreamcast version is VERY demanding compared to
the first game. Psychic Force 2 is also more of a
challenge than the first game, but not as
severely as the Dreamcast version. (A lot of
gaming magazines chalked up the Dreamcast version
as simply too difficult to play. I'm not sure if
I agree, but even I can only play it on the easy
setting if I want to win. o_0;)
Of them all, if you're good with fighting games
then I would recommend 2012, assuming you've got
a Dreamcast. (Otherwise Psychic Force 2, assuming
you have a modded PS1.) If you're not good with
fighting games, I'd recommend the first release.
(Of course, if you don't have either a Dreamcast
or a modded PS1, then you're stuck with only the
first release anyway.)
If you (or anyone else ^_^) are curious to see a
short video clip from the Dreamcast version, you
can download one from my website -- it's on the
page linked above, a reference page I show to
fancel artists who make me cels of Setsuna. *^_^*
