No no! I'm *glad* you posted what you did. I only
just finished laughing over how you put it, the
"Miaka-Tamahome-everyone else love triangle". ^_^
Because that's exactly how it was! Me, I thought
maybe all the adoration was kind of because she's
some near-goddess as far as they're concerned.
You know -- they aren't *really* in love with her
as much so as what she represents. (Blah, blah,
blah. . . I know they are actually supposed to be
in love with her, but my version makes sense!) It
certainly was a soap opera done anime-style with
a fantasy location. Actually, seeing Fushigi
Yuugi is the whole reason I never watched Ayashi
no Ceres. As soon as I heard it was done by the
same person. . . O_o;; RUN!! RUN AWAY!! ^_^;;
(I learned that only *after* downloading all of
Ayashi no Ceres -- this was before it's US
release. I burned it to CD anyway and I
occasionally look at the little stack of discs
and think: Maybe there's something redeeming
about it. Then I come back to my senses. ^_~~)
However, at least I can say that Fushigi Yuugi
didn't offend me. After the things I've been
reading about Kite, I'm really glad I never
bothered to watch THAT. (I'd heard similar lousy
reviews for it before, but some of the things
said in this thread were extra incentive to treat
that anime like the plague. o_0;)
Many Sharp Smiles,
