Interesting points, all well taken. If you don`t mind me asking; How
do you feel about sites that allow these forgeries or fancels to be
sold via online auctions or even better sites that specifically
specialize in fancels? There are many fancel artists that advertise
here. Do you place yourself at risk for allowing fancels and their
creators, although not forgeries or forgerors, but nonetheless illegal,
to be sold on the "free auction" site or even posted here for sale or
hire? Not that this site is the only location, of course not, all auctions
that host anime currently allow for this type of commerce and actually
more. But given the nature of the illegality of the work, and your
expert knowledge of it being illegal, does that not make you
indirectly a part of promoting and selling fancels that are infringing
upon anime copyright holders? Are you neutral on this subject?
Do you not see your complicity in helping to create a venue for
these types of "illegal businesses" to prosper at all? There is even a
page dedicated to such work (fancels) on Animanga for sale. Do you
not find yourself in a ackward position given your knowlege of the
situation?
Or do you think that it is fine as long as collectors are satisfied and
you receive no "Cease and Desist" orders from a copyright holder?
Personally, I think that it is okay. Sometimes, things that are illegal are
good or taken in moderation do no harm. If others are not harm by it
of course. I think that is the common sense approach. But like the
"Simpsons" case things can get stupid... That is only my opinion
though.
Just curious ^-^...btw,
Maybe you should not answer these questions!! ^-^
Sorry....
