Uh Oh,
Like Mina, I guess I need to make a statement
about offers for cels. I have opened up my
gallery twice and I will admit that I wouldn't
know where to start to put minimums on my cels.
That preparation time would kill me. I did try
to hide some of my cels that I absolutely
wouldn't consider offers for.
I do think that its important to be courteous
and to reply to all emails. Frankly I enjoy
looking at cels that people put up for offers
because its a chance to get cels that you
normally wouldn't be able to buy especially when
you've been admiring a cel in someone else's
gallery for a long time. I will admit that I'm
terrible at figuring out offer prices, but to
get a cel that I've really wanted then I'm
thankful for at least a chance.
The first time I put my gallery up for offers it
made such a terrible impression on me that I
honestly took all my Slayers cels offline except
one and about 300 to 400 cels off my gallery
also. This time I tried to do it differently.
My rationale, for taking offers on my collection
is that I'm accumulating too many cels and I
need to slim down my collection because I'm
definitely running out of space to store them.
I'm always happy to be able to tell a person
that their offer is accepted because I know they
wouldn't make an offer in the first place unless
they really wanted the cel or sketch. I also
think that I try to be very polite and prompt
when not accepting an offer. For me, when
accepting offers, it's usually because I'm not
that attached to a cel although I have sold a
few cels that I've been very attached to so I
really do consider all offers made.
To make a long story short, I don't like selling
on eBay and I think taking offers or just
selling cels and sketches outright is fine
because it lets other collectors buy cels that
they normally wouldn't have a chance to purchase
especially if its a wish cel of theirs.
Sincerely,
Linda
