Seeing this, I feel I must clarify my own thoughts. . . (Wed Jul 14 19:24:53 2004 )

There's no hard and fast rule for deciding what
is a "rare" cel. Can you go into three or more
dealer's pages and find similar items of similar
quality sitting there? If so, it's not really
"rare".

> a Fushigi Yuugi harmony cel, a Mahoromatic pan
> cel, Sailormoon henshin/bank cels

Just so you know, although not interested in them
myself, I well know they ARE pretty rare. And if
someone else thinks they're not, I challenge them
to show me where all the others, that are *for
sale*, are hiding. ^_~

> are there cels in my collection rarer than
> these? of course! but those won't leave my
> collection,

*Exactly*. Which is what people like me appreciate
knowing in advance instead of guessing. Just
because it isn't the "rarest" thing in your
collection doesn't mean it isn't "rare" in it's
own right.

> let's say I paid $100 a couple years ago for a
> cel that I think might be worth $300-$500
> today, but I'm not exactly sure

This is exactly what "offers" originally were and
the exact *meaning* that has been lost. So many
things up for offer are things that someone bought
last month and now they need some cash again. It
isn't really a case of "I've had this so long
that the market has drastically changed."

You're decided on selling instead of wishy-washy.
You've clearly indicated the items available
instead of making people guess. You're offering
the type of things that are only found through
months or years of contacting dealers and
watching sale sites. That's ALL ABOUT what
"offers" should be. . .!!

We don't want to scare off one of the few people
who's got it right. ^_^;
