For me over the years whenever I put cels up for
offers it was usually because I didn't WANT to
sell them, I HAD to sell them. Therefore for the
right price, I would sell. That is usually how
I am still, when my cels go up for offers, I
have to sell some cels, I just don't want to so
I leave it up to fate to tell me which cels I
must let go of for whatever reason there is.
Recently I have put some cels up for offers
because I don't know what to price them at. My
best example is Inuyasha cels.
Inuyasha cels are coming out in bulk and a lot
of them have sequence mates running around. I
see a cel from this series go for $40 then its
on yahoo japan selling for $140! Now I have a
sequence mate I want to sell, where in the heck
do I price this cel with a differnce like that.
Answer: Put it up for offers! If someone really
wants it they might pay the $140, but then again
the person willing to pay the $140 already
bought it so I might only get $90 for this cel.
Law of Supply and Demand.
I like offers because I have a fair chance of
getting cels not because I am online 24/7 but
because the seller thought my offer was fair and
possible higher than the rest.
A lot of Sailor Moon collectors (myself
included) have put their collections on offer
for a lot of reasons, but I think the most
common is that this market is very strange. Some
cels go over $400 some not even $40. The market
is down and we know what we paid for our cels
back in the day, and its hard to sell under
cost, so by taking offers we can feel out the
market and see if we need to cut our costs or if
the market might get better and sell at a latter
date. There is nothing worse then selling a cel
lower than what you paid, then try it being $100
under what you paid. It just hard.
Sailor Moon cels are very hard to judge right
now. So I think most of these collectors need to
take offers because otherwise they risk 1)Never
getting any sales or 2) Losing a lot of money.
Well that is what I think.
Take it or leave it.
Thanks!
