Re: Offer Etiquette (Wed Jul 14 21:22:53 2004 )

Personally, I don’t mind when collectors put
their cels up for “offers”. It gives me a change
to possibly get a cel that I would normally not
have an opportunity to purchase.

What I don’t like is when people “say” their
entire gallery up for offers, cause you know
there will be some cels that the person will not
want to sell. I think these people should “hide”
the cels that they would never sell. It makes it
a lot easier on the people wanting to make offers
& I think, for the sellers themselves.

I myself have put some cels up for offer. But I
put them on their own page marked “for offer” in
my gallery. That way there is no confusion as to
what I am willing to part with.

I sorry to see sovereign put her “offer page”
offline because of this discussion. I don’t mind
when sellers put up what the current offer is.
It actually gives me the opportunity to see if
have any chance to get the particular cel and
helps me decide how much funds I should have on
hand, if need be.

As to the point made that the seller can put up
any amount they wants to, just to inflate the
selling price, I want to say this. Most sellers,
who post here on Animanga, are “well-known”& have
a good reputation. Personally, I think they
wouldn’t do something so stupid that could ruin
their reputation just for a quick buck. I would
seriously hope not.
