Hey everyone,
Honestly, I can see it both ways. I can
understand why you'd be upset...although it's
never a good thing to be nasty in reply. It's
not entirely the most horrible thing in the
world. The cels, after all, are treasures to
most of it us. Art that we shelled out our hard
earned money (or much beloved cels) for because
we wanted them so much.
So while I don't agree particularly with the way
you handled it...I can understand why you're
upset. And it's good to hear that your husband
apologized. Mind you, he's not entirely to
blame, but it's worth reconciling.
Personally? I never, ever offer unless I a.)
know the person semi-well, or b.) have an idea of
the range the person wants. Only two my cels
have been picked up by offers, and both times the
sellers were clear on what range they wanted. In
this case, my FY Suboshi was from the gallery
Category F, and Heather had had it up on ebay, so
I knew it was at least over $200. My Hikou cel I
asked about first, and upon learning she'd gotten
a bargain, I went ahead and offered a rather
large amount anyway. I didn't really mind - I
knew that cel was a once and a lifetime chance.
So while research isn't always possible, it's
best to do as much as you can...^^;;
