Slightly OT... but opinions/thoughts wanted (Thu May 29 15:22:30 2003 )

OK, I don't want to make any enemies here, but I
have something I need to ask you all. Lengthy
story involved here.....

The URL above is the cels gallery that I maintain
for my hubby & I, but we also have a gallery on
rubberslug so that he has a gallery to play with
as well (he knows nothing of web programming).
So, consequently, all e-mail from the main site
comes to me and all the rubberslug e-mail goes to
him. Recently, someone decided to ask about a cel
or two that belong to me in our gallery on
rubberslug. My other half responded as I told him
to, with a polite, 'well... they're not for sale
but go ahead and make an offer on the one and
I'll think about it'. And the offer that came
back just blew me and my hubby away....

Now this is where the problem begins... and
everyone may feel differently here, but I want to
know whether I'm alone in my feeling or not. The
offer was SO low (nearly only one third of what I
paid for the cel) that I was instantaneously
insulted. I mean I was just plain ANGRY. I felt
like shouting, 'is that ALL it's worth to you?!?!
You bother to make me an offer on a cel I have
already said is not for sale and that's IT?!'

Needless to say, I was P.O.ed. But, that being my
gut reaction, I wouldn't shoot off a nasty e-mail
saying exactly what I thought... but my hubby
did.... and at first, I thought, 'you did WHAT?!'
But I gave him control of the rubberslug gallery,
so I guess that's what I get.

So my question to you all is:

Have you ever been insulted by an offer like I
was? Tell me your stories!! And how did you
handle the offer??

(And show me the cels if you like!! -- I'd show
mine, but I don't want to make any enemies.. I'm
really not like that..)
