I was attempting to sell what I consider some very
nice cels to a dealer that I know loves to collect
a certain series privately from public view (I
cannot reveal the name, since I am sworn to
secrecy, but most of you know the person).
I had these cels marked way down since I wanted to
sell them in a block. To my surprise the dealer
did not want to accept the cels offered, at the
very reasonable price that I had set, but instead
made an offer on a cel that was so inexpensive
that I was shocked when I heard the amount that he
was willing to pay for it. He offered me 10 times
the value for the cel! Yes, 10 times. I was
shocked and amazed, so
I quite naturally thought that the person had made
a typing error. I sent in the real price to the
dealer and this person said that I was the one
making a mistake o-O! He even went as far as to
suggest that he pay more for it!!
I could not understand this at all. Although, I
could have made quite a huge profit, I would never
have forgiven myself. So, in the end I did not
sell it and it angered him.
