Who knows what is stolen? Unless, Rick lets it be
known! Should there have been some official stamp
adhered to the cel or something? Maybe, but
how can anyone tell? Everybody has rights you
know. The consumer most of all.
You want a finger pointed at you cause you bought
a cel from a reputable dealer? Only to turn
around and both (seller and buyer) be called
thieves? Preposterous! There should have been a
standard set up for this to protect both dealers
and buyers. Some seal, letter of verification, or
other marking on the cel itself or associate with
it. The only one who seems to know for sure is
Anime-link and associates. Do you know? Who
knows?! So, before you go on about they have
rights argument, check it out, what rights do
they have? Do you know for sure? To what extent?
There are far worse crimes of fake cels and copy
cels..At least these cels are "real".
Has there been any precedence? Did Gainax go
crazy when "stolen" EVA cels went on market and
are still on market, auctions, in shops, and in
collectors collections? Did they get people
arrested?! No! It's BAD BUSINESS, instead those
cels price skyrocketted!
Everyone has a reputation! Anime-Link can go mad
all it wants to, but unless there is something
coming across the airways except well-worded
threats, claims mean squat!
Do you want to be called a thief after spending
several hundred dollars on a cel? How can there
be any verification at the point of sale? Do you
suggest that everyone contact Anime-Link before
they make a purchase of a VHD cel? Also, this is
not fair to Rick's customers, this CONTROVERSY
could eventually hurt the overall value of those
that bought VHD cels from Anime-link if this
madness persists? It may already be too late.
And last, I am a customer of Anime-link. I have
bought a cel from Rick's site, and I was
throughly satisfied with my purchase. However,I
am as a collector questioning the business
methods which seems short sighted by Anime-Link
and not well thought out. Anime-link has rights
too, but the consumer comes first. |
