I dont care about the licensing stuff, ever since
cons quit showing new unreleased anime, I've been
bored to a dark death at most cons I've attended
in the last year. I remember back in the mid
90's when you could see anything at cons. I saw
FY in 96 fansubed, and I too went right to the
dealers room and bought a ton of stuff that I
wouldnt have bought had I not seen the show right
then and there. Oh, not to mention the people
who did the subbing knew what they were doing,
and didnt butcher the show. I loved all the
bumbles they made in the commercial release
XD~~~ Bottom line is, it really sucks now that
cons dont show stuff that hasnt been released. I
mean really, who wants to spend 600$ to get to a
big con and go to the viewing room to watch
Cowboy Bebop...again...? (CB is great, just
using it as an example) And dont get me started
on AMG...hello...that's all they show now at the
cons down this way...>.<;;
Its a good thing we have a way around the new con
rules about fansubs...we have UT's anime club to
fall back on, they still get a TON of fansubs in
to check out and rent. I've gotten to see some
really nifty new anime that I hope get's released
here soon ^_~ |
