If it's worth seeing, it's worth waiting to see
done correctly, in a version where the artists
got paid to do it.
But it's not worth going to a con for.
Conventions are going to lose all of the people
that go to find out what's new in anime, which is
the whole point. I have no problem buying
licensed, legitimate, released copies of old
fansubs I've loved. But I've been burned so many
times trying to buy newly released anime that is
total crap. I'm sick of wasting my money on it.
I want to see what's coming up before I waste $30
on an hour of anime that ADV(or whoever) thought
might be popular and in my opinon is total junk.
If the companies would preview more of the anime
it would be worthwhile. But they don't. They
wait till after they've released it to the
general public, and a year later they try and
pass it off as "New!". My pet peeve is when they
buy the rights and often wait years to do
anything with it, if they ever even release it at
all. |
