You mentioned a few times about doing your 
homework and checking your resources before you 
buy a cel. I was wondering if you had some tips 
for people like me who are fairly new to cel 
collecting. 

I try to buy cels from dealers who have proven 
themselves respectable. I rarely buy cels on Ebay 
(and when I have it has been from someone on this 
board), but I do buy them on Yahoo Japan. I am 
always a little concerned since I can't read 
kanji and the translators are questionable. 
Whenever possible, I look for the scene that the 
cel is from and match it against the original. 
But I know that this is not a foolproof method 
since some copies out there are quite good. I've 
seen some people mention before about colors not 
being right. But how can you be sure? None of the 
cels I own match the colors that show up on my 
television.

In short, I was hoping you could give me some 
advice on how I can protect myself.
