really, it is.  of all of the fan cels that i've 
ever painted, i've never ripped someone's cel 
scan.  i hate to see posts and threads like 
this, but you're right in assuming that most fan 
cel artists who auction on eBay do.  the sad 
thing is that these people don't feel the need 
to respect the large sum of $$$$ paid out by the 
acual cel owner.  if i was auctioning a fan cel, 
even painted from a screen cap, and someone had 
recently acquired a cel of it and emailed me 
about the auction, i think that i would just end 
the auction. 

as for fan cels themselves, i really don't feel 
like i've grown as an artist doing cels of 
screen caps and other illustrations.  i much 
prefer to do original cels, and i know that 
people prefer to see them, too.  another thing 
that i hate about fan cel artists on eBay is 
that they make the same fan cels over and over 
again.  i saw on cels.org the other day a fan 
cel shop where you could pick from fan cels 
she's already made for others to purchse!  if 
you make it once for someone, then respect the 
fact that you made it for them and only them and 
move on.
