Manga vs. Anime
I think you made a good point about how the anime
is drawn out too long. In the early episodes of
Dragon Ball Z, the story moves along at a good
pace and there is a good amount of progression in
each episode. Once the series became a hit, the
studios had to create full episodes with not much
happening in them (*thinks of LONG serquences of
characters just staring at each other ready to
fight...*).
The after seeing a bit of the anime, I looked at
the manga for Dragon Ball. I found the manga to
be superior to the anime in almost every way.
First of all, the story moves along at a perfect
pace. Second, the art is ALWAYS top-notch. I
feel that the style of animation used by a couple
of the studios that did Dragon Ball Z is rushed
and choppy (only SOME episodes).
If the manga has a downfall it is only because of
the medium's limits. Some scenes in Dragon Ball
just have more impact because they can animate it
and add a soundtrack.
Anyway, I didn't plan on writing this much on the
subject... but I guess I got carried away (bored
in between classes).
