I'm not a *big* fan of anime and perhaps
maybe "Akira" is partly responsible. As a
schooling-animator in Los Angeles, I am attracted
mostly to Western and European animation. Too
bad the first Anime I ever saw was "Akira". It
turned me off completely to anime for several
years.
But I'm slowly getting accquainted with series I
*do* like, like the Eat-Man series of
course, "Mononoke Hime", "Cowboy Bebop", "Kiki",
and a few others. But LOL, I agree with your
opinion ( sorries to anyone who is a rabid Akira
fan ).
I remember watching it the first time with a
friend ( back in them old days when Anime was
looked upon as a geeky fetish in the states ) and
was thinking, "What the hell is this crap I'm
allowing my friend to force me to sit through...?" |
