While I disagree with mouse about the cel being resonably priced. . . (Tue Jul 2 21:30:47 2002 )

You can't argue that it isn't a scene from which
every Nuriko fan out there wants a frame. For
really popular scenes, there will always be a
higher than normal price tag attached because
*someone* will be desperate enough to pay it.

I have ordered from Animegame multiple times in
the past and they're nothing short of completely
organized, professional, prompt, and curteous -
they respond to you quickly (be it orders or
questions), pack your cels with care, and don't
ignore problems. I've bought cels from "Animegame"
since before the site existed and they were only
a nobody on Ebay, and I know they have always had
this good business attitude. They are one of my
*favorite* dealers to deal with next to Taro.

But as much as I like them, I've not been buying
from them so much lately. I've been increasingly
less impressed with prices which they spiral
higher and higer up regardless of the market.
It's as if the throught process is: "If it sells
right away we didn't jack up the price enough."
I'm not saying this is the actual goal, I'm
saying this is how it looks from the outside.
Because if you watch their site, you'll see that
yes, they have very nice cels. . . Many which are
rotting in their "for sale" books because no one
thinks they're worth those kinds of prices. In
the cases of some of the cels *currently* on the
site, I've seen near identical frames in equal
condition go for 1/3 the cost while *on auction*.
(And that's where cel prices will usually really
go nuts.)

In the end, it depends on us all. And if people
keep happily spending four-digit figures on cels
of Nuriko, then cels of Nuriko will cost four-
digit figures. It isn't just the dealers who will
be charging the fortune - it's also collectors
who find themselves in the need to sell and want
to "get back what they paid". On the other hand,
we could as a group say "screw it, we won't pay
that" and pretty soon you'd find you could get
your Nuriko cels for a hell of a lot less. . .
Problem is, it only works if we all work together
on it.

Just my thoughts.

Many Sharp Smiles,
