But grrrr, you got me my doubt about the closure 
back! Actually, I do still doubt. 

I can tell you why he is so proud: he served 
justice. Bin Laden was proud after 9/11. He, 
too, is an insanely convinced believer-into-
somethinger, so he's proud of accomplishing his 
goal and can't understand why it angers everyone 
around him, so everyone around is probably 
stupid.
That's his way of thinking. This is a way of 
thinking that makes people dangerous. Nutty, but 
dangerous. Deep conviction = ruthlessly running 
over all obstacles with no consideration.
