let me start by saying I'm not trying to turn any 
beloved character into a pirvert. I just think 
that the sistuiations they're put into by the 
creators of the shows (who already know all the 
plot twists) are sometimes very strange. There is 
a high degree of pedophelia in japanese culture 
if you don't believe me you can also check out 
the LA times review of the super flat art show 
(where they interview the artists). And many of 
the older animes are done by the same people as 
the new ones. Rin Taro who did Metropolis also 
did Galaxy express 999 where the hero had an 
Oedipal complex.
