As some of the others have said, I got into anime 
because of the way it tells a story and the 
artistry. Just because something is done in CG 
does not mean it is any less beautiful than cel 
animated series. Look at Spirited Away for a good 
example of this. This movie was almost all CG, 
and I think it looked better than anything 
Miyazaki has done in the past. If it wasn't for 
CG, Miyazaki may never have made this picture. 
The reason he was conteplating retiring was all 
the work he puts into his movies. Now, with CG, 
his workload is decreased and his vision still 
comes across on the screen. Plus, with the advent 
of CG, my cels will become that much more 
precious to me and others. One of the reasons I 
got into cel collecting was to preserve this 
particular way of telling a story and display it 
for others to see. Thanks to people like us, 
these images will be displayed and passed around 
for generations to come. Otherwise, these cels 
would be rotting away in a box in some warehouse 
getting moldy.
