Heya,
Oh absolutely no hard feelings! I dont see this
as an argument, more of a debate? I dont have
much more to add to this really, because both of
our arguments are pretty set in stone ^_^. At
this point we both make sense, cant compare
apples to oranges. I have one last thing to add
though. You said:
"However, the reason I want to become an
animator is draw my characters hand-drawn. There
is just something about I did this with my own
two hands, instead of the computer having a list
of colors for me to choose from. I would rather
mix the colors myself....do an animated drawing
in watercolor etc."
This is a very romantic idea...but...try making
an entire animation solely by hand..and I mean a
big one, at least 1-3 minutes long or so (hey,
that's big in animation time! 15-30 frames per
second..think about it). Have a deadline set
for yourself too, one that cannot be moved.
Also, have someone act as a client or producer
that sets changes for you, all the while not
moving your deadline at all. We'll see how you
really like hand done animation after a trial
like this, haha. I felt the same way you did
before I did my first animation... After that
little experience...never again. I can tell you
now..all the animators over at the big houses
would probably rather die than give up their
computers ^^;;. Totally hand-done animation is
a romantic idea, just like horse drawn buggies
and making your own butter, etc. But let's face
it...times are a changin'. Horse drawn buggies
are rustic and quaint (and I think the horses
are so cute!)...but when I need to get across
town by 9 am, Id rather have a sportscar. |
