I think the new shows using CG are all 
fantastically done!  I am probably one of very 
few people here who thinks the change to all CG 
is a good thing.  But...I started watching anime 
for the shows themselves...and of course the art 
style.  I did not start watching anime to 
collect the art. The love of the art back then, 
and still today, has more to do with the fact 
that I love animation itself.  I also draw 
inspiration for my own art from anime, I always 
have.  I love to see the new styles and effects 
of today.  But first and foremost, I love 
anime.  The fact that studios are using all CG 
now makes doing the work faster, nicer looking, 
and much cheaper.  You just cant compete with 
that.  New shows are being released quicker, and 
with mind blowing art and animation.  What took 
years now takes months.  I mean, no, we wont 
have new cels to collect, but frankly that's a 
plus as I see it.  How many of us are brokeazz 
due to cels again?  There's still plenty of cels 
from older shows out there. The shows I like the 
most are still cel done, and there's plenty 
left. I am really happy to see CG taking off 
tho.  I think it's making the newer anime much 
cleaner, and a lot spiffier than previous shows 
were, simply because the use of CG makes it so 
much easier and cheaper to do.

I will probably get lambasted for saying 
this..but try to enjoy anime for what it is, as 
a whole.  Dont just be consumers of the cels. 
When these studios are producing these shows, 
they're not sitting there worrying about making 
cels for collectors.  They want people to enjoy 
the show as a whole.  Not to just want the 
little frames from one scene to stick on their 
websites and go "Look what I got!".  I like it 
because I can enjoy anime for what it is once 
again, without having the urge to go and buy 
cels from the show.  But, that's just me.  I 
love the newer shows...the art is simply 
amazing...all of which couldnt not have been 
done without the use of CG.  Either budgets or 
time wouldnt allow for it.  I adore my 
cels...but sometimes its sad to think that 
people may not even care about the anime itself, 
they just want another supply of cels to buy :{. 

On one last note...all this CG stuff..since 
there are no cels, it inspires me to make my own 
art ^_~  Maybe fanart and fancels are the way to 
go?  I for one would love a few Gwen 
fancels....perhaps when I dig out of the hole a 
bit more ^^;
