Thank you for your answer. As you said my post
was no provocation, I just think it's time to
discuss about that. I think that kind of
behaviour is not good. Buying TEST cels for $500
leads to insane prices. They will only
contribute increasing the price of real
production cels. It's like we are creating our
own speculative bubble. Those prices are just
not what they should be, and by accepting them
we make the hobby even harder to follow.*
The problem is cel pricing. If it were paintings
made by famous artists, there would be
specialists to tell us their correct price. I
know some say that art is worth what a person is
ready to pay for it, but there is also the price
given by the specialists, that allow comparing
the value of all the paintings together. Now I
often see cels going for much more than they are
worth. I mean come on, a DBZ cel (291 episodes,
hours and hours long) for $1000, and a great X
cel (1 movie, one hour and a half) for $400,
isn't there a problem somewhere ? |
