Well,
you are partially right, and I have to agree if I
was an Israman (what IS that?) and labeled an
American, Id be sort of put off. Im an Amreican,
and even I am ashamed to tell people that these
days ^_^;; I hope that changes soon...we're not
all pigs who hate the rest of the world you
know... 9_9;.
But, I also feel Americans, as a people, are
unfairly judged by the rest of the world
SOMEtimes. There are all walks of life here, we
ARE a melting pot of nationalities. Not all of
us are fat, weird, arrogant, or dumb. Anime has
opened the door for Americans to learn a lot
about Japanese culture, and hence cultivate a new
appreciation for the country and it's people.
Forgive my saying so, but most world news seems
to come out of a handful of economically sound
countries, America and Japan being in that
handful. I know people from all over the world,
hell, my dad is from South Africa, my boyfriend's
family is German, my best friend is from Spain,
the other from Mexico City, and his family is
from Israel. Helloooo, melting pot... America
is more a state of mind than a place. We got em
all here, so it's not very fair to judge us all
as fat stinking lumps...even tho types like that
are really prevalent, AND for some reason,
they're the most obnoxiously "patriotic".
Shame. No one interviews the rest of us for the
world to see... :\ They always pick Joe Bob down
in pigtown, who is always waving his stars and
stripes around like a big rifle. |
