I recently visited with some Japanese friends who 
were touring the US.  One of the things that 
truly amazed them was the humongous size of the 
meals served in American restaurants...  and the 
fact that Americans will actually stuff that much 
food into their bellies in one sitting.  They 
were so flabbergasted by the mountains of food on 
their plates that they would take pictures of 
every meal they were served...  next to a dollar 
bill or a pack of cigarettes to show the scale.
