First of all, no one is making you have a gallery
at Rubberslug.
Second, no one is making you look at the
galleries at Rubberslug.
That said, I think everyone is entitled to their
own opinion on everything, but I also think you
are making not only generalizations, but
assumptions about the site itself.
The rating system is opt-in. You don NOT HAVE TO
USE IT. It is something that is off by default.
People who *want* ratings, turn it on.
A seasoned collector is not going to base a
gallery off of monetary value either. If they do,
then that's just what you have to expect if you
choose to have your gallery rated.
You also don't need good graphics (or ANY
graphics) to have a great gallery at Rubberslug.
Some of my favorites there have zero graphics.
All they have are their cels, and they have great
taste in cel artwork.
Oh.. and finally, about the restrictions on the
site about selling. Do you think that the site
costs nothing to run?? If Jason allowed people to
sell things on there.. not only would it cost
more, but it would also become a "free place to
sell things".. and it starts with cels, then
people sell figures and pencil boards and
whatever else they want to. He's planning on
having a seperate area to sell, but that's still
far in the future.
It's like getting mad at ebay for charging you
money to sell things.... completely rediculous.
Just be thankful he can keep the site popup free
for *your* viewing pleasure. (that is - if you
do. ... no one is making you!)
