You do have to be suspicious of hanken with ENTIRELY
xeroxed lines. Xeroxed lines will be spotty and, to get
hanken quality, at least some of the lines will have to
be touched up by hand.
So, what you do is check for the hand-inked lines on your
cel. If none of the lines are hand-inked or at least
touched up by hand, then you probably have a fake hanken.
If you do find hand-inked lines, then check THOSE against
the ones in the published image. Check widths in
particular. I've never had problems comparing.
But, yes, you should have the hanken mono in hand when you
do the comparison. The assumption is you bought from
someone reputable enough to take your cel back if you do
determine that it's not the original.
