In the recent thread about "fanart", someone wrote
that knowing the technics and how cels are painted
is helpfull to notice that it's a fancel. But don't
forget one thing : Fans are... fans ! (Which is
the short for fanatic :) True fans will stop to nothing
and won't count their time to reach perfection. They
will learn whatever technic is needed, restart as
many time is needed, spend as much time as needed to
reach perfection.

That's how a fan can spend a whole summer polishing
by hand the mirror of a telescope to get a result
equivalent to a profesional-quality, industrial made
one. (I don't want to hear any comment, ok ? :)

That's how a student can write an operating system
at university that, with time and the help of other
hobbyist in the world, far out-class produces made
by large multi-nationals....

That's how many fansubs are of better quality than
their commercial version....

Oh, no, never underestimate the Power of the Fo.. sorry,
of fans :)
