Unless you're about to lose your job and house,
of course ~_~. Id rather have a place to live
for another month than get "good cel karma". All
the cels I have, the sellers I got them from all
have dibs on them, aside from a few. Id always
offer them back to the seller first for the price
I paid. Im a _tad_ bitter is all, because some of
the cels I deemed 'dreamcels' that some people
have given me 'dibs' on passed me by. So, Im
very touchy when it comes to this particular
subject.
I remember one instance...I had dibs on a cel.
But, the girl who had it ran into a major
crisis. She got a higher offer for the cel than
mine, but she still owed me dibs. She contacted
me and told me the situation. I still had dibs
on the cel, but I passed on it so she could get
the money she needed. I didnt think ill of her at
all, in fact Id rather see someone get the cash
they need to take care of their problems. I can
live without the cel. I have passed on a lot of
cels I had dibs on for this reason. This was my
point. I didnt mean to sound nasty or
dishonest. In the true event I needed to sell
something that someone had dibs on, but I knew I
could get more for the cel (and I NEEDED more) Id
first consult the original person who asked for
the cel. Tell them the problem. See what they
say. I wouldnt just outright sell the cel from
under them, but I would hope they were the kind
of person that would understand why I need x amt
of dollars, and that selling the cel to another
meant I could have that amt of dollars. It's
very subjective, and dependant on a lot of
factors. Im in no way condoning not keeping a
promise to someone. I've always managed to give
all my dibs people that respect. There's only
one time when I didnt....and there were some
really odd circumstances involved. So far Ive
only had two offers on two cels in my gallery...
In all I think I've used the word 'dibs' with
other collectors maybe three times. All of which
were honest ones ~_~ |
