Well... All the collectors I have asked to please
keep me in mind for certain cels haven't let me
down yet. I thank you all for that -- you know
who you are.
I feel that if you give your word to someone that
you will let them know if you need to sell a
certain cel they have been dying for, that you
should keep it. And if that person can't buy the
cel at that moment in time, offer it to someone
else.
I myself have a few cels that I told the original
owners I would email them first if I had to sell
them, usually because they were in real need of
cash in the first place (otherwise they wouldn't
have sold the cel to begin with).
With the exception of a few cels which were
already promised, like I said, my best friend
gets first choice if and when something comes up
and I need to sell them.
But like you mentioned, money sometimes plays a
big part in the persuation of whom a cel goes
to. It all depends how much honor you really
have, when it all boils down. To sell a cel for
the price you bought it for to your "dibs" buddy,
or to sell to the person who wants to buy it for
2x that amount.
Personally I like honor above anything else...
