Heya LJ, heres my survey result:-

1) What country do you live in?
Australia

2) What do you predominantly collect, Western (
Disney, WB, Bluth, Film Roman, etc. ) or Eastern
( Anime ) animation art?
Eastern (Anime) Art

3) What makes up the majority of your
collection? Production Cels, Sketches, Gengas,
Storyboards, etc?
Production Cels by far

4) What shows/movies/characters do you
predominantly collect?
I guess I have more El Hazard cels than any other
series but I have cels from a plethora of other
series.
Character-wise Shayl Shayla from El Hazard is my
most collected character.

5) When selecting your pieces, what do you
generally look for? ( close-ups, action poses,
character interactions, etc. )
Nothing set, pretty much whatever appeals to me.
Liking the series is a big part. Price is also a
mitigating factor.

6) Where do you get the majority of your
animation art? ( Online Anime shops, Online Anime
dealers, local comic stores, local anime shops,
local animation art galleries ).
Online Anime cels dealers or Ebay mostly. Also
some from other collectors and a few from cel
shops in Tokyo.

7) On the average, about how much do you spend
on animation art a month?
About US$100 though its more sometimes and less
sometimes.

8) How long have you been collecting?
Almost a year now

9) What is the most you have ever paid for one
piece?
Probably 15000 yen for a repro cel.

9) What show/character was it? Full Metal
Panic/Tessa

10) Why do you collect animation art? What draws
you to it?
Primarily I like the series I collect from but
also for the art itself (I’ve got some cels from
series I haven’t even seen). The cel art is
fantastic and its great to be able own part of
the anime itself.

Good luck with your speech.
- X
