Just about all hosts have a Copyright paragraph
in the user agreement.
-----
Copyright or Trademark Infringement: Use of
[insert hosts name] to send or receive any
information which infringes the patents,
trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets or
proprietary rights of any other person or entity
is prohibited. This includes, but is not limited
to digitization of music, movies, photographs or
other copyrighted materials or software.

Since one's website content has an automatic
copyright (to my knowledge), collecting these to
post on your own site is in violation of this
user agreement. The host does NOT want to have
infringements hosted on their server.
Someone once copied large parts of my gaming
website word for word, including the pictures
(which were of my character even), and I
contacted the host. The host forwarded my
complaint to the owner and I believe they would
have taken further action, but the domain was
ready to expire and the site went down anyway. |
