I used to think anime was less expensive than 
Amercian animation. However, when placed in the 
context it's about the same if not more.

I don't get your statement here.  OF COURSE anime 
is cheaper.  I can get anime cels from a top show 
like Tenchi Muyo for $10.  Show me ANY American 
cartoon that has been even halfway popular where 
you can get cels for less than $100.  Even 
lackluster cels from current cartoons seem to go 
for $300-500.  That's why I never collected 
American stuff---too darn expensive!
