I was making a point regarding the fact that many postal workers
are not exactly happy with their jobs and thus are proven to
snap on occasion. Besides, I doubt that the one with the gun
had intended on actually shooting and "killing" mail.

Many post offices have the mail bins behind the postal teller
line, so I have seen them toss the packages into the bins by
a quick fling over the shoulder.

Do you know what a metaphor is?

Your defence of our postal system is admirable, but I'd like to see 
if your opinion will change one day when, god forbid, you recieve
a package that looks like it's been through severl otherwise
unexplainable shape-shifts.
