I found a wishlist cel on ebay and bought it. I
made arrangements to pay via money order and sent
the money order out. Everytime I asked the lady
if she got my money order she said no and she
said she was waiting for it. This was going on
since late May. I recently found the cel on
someone else's gallery and emailed them to see
where they got the cel from. At first they did
not believe there was an ebay auction for it but
when I showed her the link she told me who she
got it from and when! She bought from the same
seller after making an offer and paid via paypal
June 1st. When I confronted the seller, she
confessed that she sold the cel already and would
be sending the money order back which
miracoulously suddenly appeared. What was she
trying to do, can anyone make sense of this. She
had this cel sold since June 1st, why did she not
tell me. Did this person offer her more than her
ebay auction went for and if so is this right to
lead me on considering how excited I told her I
was about the cel? Also why did she not tell me
right away she sold it so I can cancel the money
order and get my money back? Any thoughts?
P.S. here is the last email I recieved from the
lady who bought my cel:

Hmmmm....I had no idea about this auction. I've
just recently jumped
back into cel collecting. I made an offer to a
private collector after
seeing the cel on her site shampy.rubberslug.com
days before I was looking at other private
collector sites looking for
a stars op cel, and she replied to sell to me.
I've had the cel/*coming
soon* posted on my site for almost 2 weeks. I
paid the seller June1st
via paypal

Email from seller I confronted:
Hi
It's been two weeks since the auction and I
haven't received your payment. That's why I asked
you if you still have your receipt so you could
cancel the money order in case something happened
to it. Unfortunately, do to personal reasons, I
couldn't wait much longer and had to sell the cel
to someone else. If your money order does happen
to arrive I'll return it to you...but I'm
guessing that it got lost in the mail if you sent
it off on the 1st.
If it doesn't arrive maybe we can still work
something out between us.

By the way the reference to asking me if I had
the receipt was when she emailed me and told me
that if the money order does not come, I can
always cancel it. She never told me TO CANCEL IT.
Here is her email after I confronting her about
the money order:

Hi
I finally got your payment today, I don't know
why it took so long to get here. It might have
been placed in the wrong box originally.
I've sent it back via priority mail, along with
some extra things.
I hope your next transaction goes better.

Another explanation is that the other person made
a bigger offer than her auction went for so
instead of owning up to what happened she was
going to act like the money order was lost so I
can cancel it and once I cancelled it then claim
she had to resell it since I cancelled it. I sent
the m/o to the same coast and the post office
told me it would have taken three days to get
there. It being lost would have been more
realistic than her getting it so late and right
after I confronted her. Please let me know what
you think because this cel meant alot to me. |
