It takes a while for people to read through 
everything in the archives to find out about 
the "unwritten rules" of this forum. Some eager 
newbie posters will not lurk first -- they want 
to post and get their questions answered already.

Having a FAQ (official or even unofficial) would 
be a great way to let ppl know which parts of the 
grass are off-limits.
