Delivery confirmation really doesn't help anyone
but the seller. It simply tells you when your
package arrives. Until that point, it doesn't
provide any info. And there really isn't anything
to tie the handwritten receipt you get to an
actual package. Sure, there is the matching ID
number, but you can send a package anywhere to
anybody and then put whatever bogus info you want
on your half of the tracking slip.
As a seller, I use delivery confirmation to guard
against buyers who might say that the package
never arrived when in reality it did. But as for
giving the buyer piece of mind, it really doesn't
work that way in my experience.
