The most I have ever spent on a cel is a little
over $200 (- shipping & Western Union wire which
really sucked!), though I have bid much more and
lost (it was really upsetting but I also was a
little relieved at the same time).  The least was
around 800 yen (- shipping) for a set of cels.

I guess the prices you pay also reflect your
budget and right now I could never justify
spending $1k or more on a cel because I know that
I would feel very guilty about it.  If I were in a
more comfortable and stable position it would
probably be a different story.  

There are a couple cels I have been *so* tempted
to spend that much on because they were absolute
dream cels but the only way I would is if I sold
off a portion of my exsisting collection to fund
the purchases o_O;
