I was also told by someone that you also had
property rights associated with it.  I was NOT
referring to "copyright" of the actual material
(just the scan that YOU made), but also poperty
rights to that particular item in your possession.

Van Goh owns the copyright to his material, but
you own the painting if you paid for it and you
should also be able to control who gets to see it,
take pictures of it, or copy it and there is no
difference in a cel (except for being in a much
more minor situation).
