Hi Moonrabitt,
I can understand your fellings, but cant say that I agree or
endorse them. There are two primary reasons for this.
First and foremost, in my opinion, if you are collecting for the
approval of others, you are collecting for the wrong reason.
Collecting should be a personal thing, and done in the way
which brings the collector enjoyment. Now, having said that,
everyone derives satisfaction and enjoyment from different
places. For some people, it is sharing their excitement and
enjoyment with others. Other people are a little more private,
and, in some cases, are even afraid this would be interpreted as
bragging. I personally stratal the two, and understand both
perspectives very well, but know that most people fall a little
more strongly to one side or the other.
The second reason is that not everyone has the kind of time to
really pull this off. On a good week, I, and many others, have
only a few hours of free time to even consider putting towards
updating a web site. For that reason, I collect cels at a much
faster rate than I can possibly update. I struggle to even get a
web site up and running, much less updated, and with the
commentary I would like.
I certainly hope this is not interpreted as a criticism in any way
to those who maintain beautiful and informative sites. I love
visiting the sites in the free time I have. However, I hope it is
understood that not everyone has the same time constraints, or
even motivations, but can love their cels and the act of collecting
just as much, even if it isn't as visible to others.
