Galleries with no comments at all really do bug
me, I must admit. It makes it seem like the
person is collecting just for the heck of it and
doesn't fully appreciate the cels. This happens
a lot with people who have a ton of dream-
quality cels and it makes me wonder, "How can
you have been so lucky as to acquire this cel
and not even type one word about it?" etc.
Now, this can be untrue, and the person might
really love their cels - but I'm just saying
that that's the impression they give with their
galleries.
I write notes for every one of my cels, with
information about the cel itself, the character,
the scene it was from, the bidding war it took
to get it, and any other stories behind the
cel... obviously, the more important cels get
longer notes than the ones I like less.
Why do I do this? For my own reference
mainly... and to show that yes, there is a
living person behind all these cels. All of my
websites have always had a personal touch to
them, and my cel gallery is no different. I
didn't "decide" to set up my site like that...
it just felt natural. I can't imagine just
slapping up pictures with no comments about it.
If people don't want to read spoilers, they can
skip the descriptions. I know that I never read
descriptions of cels from series I've never
seen, so I expect others to have the same self
control ^_^;
I love reading other people's cel commentaries.
It's nice to get a feel for what the cel means
to the person. Just because I've seen the show
doesn't mean I don't like reading that person's
take on the scene. ^_^ |
