Okay,

I have a rather big problem on my plate and I
dont know what to do about it. Let's say you had
accquired a cel that you would honestly deem a
dreamcel, and you had paid more for it than you
ever thought you'd spend on a cel. Let's say the
seller doesnt tell you what kind of condition the
cel is in. The scan they show you is fine (albeit
old), you have no worries. But, when you get
your "dreamcel", it has terrible damage that not
only ruins the joy of the moment, but also makes
the amt of money you paid for it ridiculous.
What would you do?

a) Keep the cel, even though everytime you look
at it all you feel is regret and betrayal.

b) Get the cel fixed or restored (and no, I dont
mean having a friend do a correction layer for
you, I mean really restored) and pretty much
destroy the value of it in the eyes of the
collecting community..all the while still knowing
it was damaged in the first place (remembering
what you paid for it, and then knowing you had to
spend even more on the thing to get it fixed).

c) Confront the seller about it even though you
are 99% sure it wont amt to anything.

d) Try to sell the cel, even though you waited so
long to have the particular image. You know you
will never get another chance to own an image
from the scene, AND there's the added bonus of
getting nowhere near what you paid for the cel.

Im in this situation now. I tried to let it go,
but it's just haunting me. I think Im going to
try suggestion b first. But after that, Im
really struggling over what to do with said cel.
Any helpful advice or anything would be grately
appreciated. I hope no one else -ever- has this
happen to them...it's very very disheartening,
and has been bothering me for some time now. I
know a lot of verteran collectors are around
here, so Id like to hear what you all have to
say :).
