When I sell, I accept Paypal - it's convenient
for me, I get my money faster and it's *very*
safe for both the buyer and the seller. Do I try
to pass on fees to the purchaser? No. Reason is
just like you said - people who can pay for it by
credit card DO tend to spend more money (myself
included... unfortunately for my wallet. ;) Do I
pay the sellers fees when I bid? No. :P
At least most of the people who pass along their
fees are usually VERY easy to spot. ;P Most of
them realize that ebay does look for sellers who
try to pass along surcharges. They usually have
something to the effect of "email me before
bidding when paying by Paypal" instead of
outright stating "purchasers must pay fees" :P
In any case, if you are worrying about 2.5% being
lost to Paypal .... I think its time to take a
break from buying for a while so your checking
account can recover. Just a thought. ;P |
