Prologue: You may all pour gasoline over me if
you want but I am going to make some observations
here.
Avery posted here upset when she received a bent
cel.
Is that her fault? No.
Did she feel that the cel was improperly packed?
By her description, yes.
She has a right to feel that way.
There have been many complaint posts here over
the years regarding this issue. I don't remember
anyone attacking the posters the way Avery was
attacked.
Why was she attacked?
Because someone's friend here got upset about her
post.
Everyone here has friends. Just because it
happened to be one of four or five "close-knit
cel collector/smaller dealer friends" who live in
the United States is irrelevent. If Avery
getting upset over receiving a bent cel from one
of these people suddenly becomes "social suicide"
then frankly there was something very wrong to
begin with.
You can't write off Averys' experience just
because her friends take exception to her post.
Attacking her is not only childish, it makes me
wonder just how 'nice' her friends really are.
As someone else posted, it is a customer service
issue. How the issue is handled and how Avery is
treated is not only very important but is
ultimately representative of the business
policies and ethics of the people involved.
Professionalism anyone?
Apologies to Avery anyone?
Avery, if you find that you have just
committed "social suicide" as no doubt I just
have (oh poor me) just remember it's a big wide
world out there.
I'm sorry your cel was bent. Over five years of
collecting and I have about 7 that have been
bent. Try putting the cel in its bag in a file or
under a stack of books for a few days, it should
help. Make sure that the entire surface of the
cel is covered though.
Disclaimer, I have never met or conversed with
Avery (that I know of) before.
Epilogue: You may light the matches now. I have
50 more cels to scan. |
