I don't want to enter in that discussion but I don't realy understand your argument about re-selling cheaper than you bought them. I mean, you buy them from a dealer, try to resell them higher. If that's work, fine. If that doesn't, you lower your price because you never intended to keep the cel in the first place. I don't say it's good or bad but I don't understand how you try to turn that into a service you are doing to other people... Cheers, Yann Stettler PS: As for people who mentioned that all dealers are just doing that but with more or less middlemen, I don't agree. Dealers that get cels from studio or get them directly from Japan are providing something that dealers who bought on-line to resell don't : They bring cels on the market that customers wouldn't have had access to. Don't get wrong idee : just going to Japan and visiting AWS isn't enough to find many of the cels that we dealers do. It often involve contacts and friends in the japanese cels community. Quite a lot of cels are simply not for sale to public and are sold/traded "behind the counter". By the way, even for other goods, there isn't many companies that are both producing items and doing direct sale. Most produce items and it's other companies that buy and resell to end-user. That's what dealers going to Japan do. Dealers buying from an on-line shop to resell right after are like end-user buying some hardware from a shop to try reselling it at a higher price. Would you buy from such people knowing that you can get the same things cheapest directly from the shop ? No. The only differance with cels is that they are one of a kind. So if you want a specific cel that was bought from a retail shop to be resold at a higher price, you have to shut-up, grit your teeth and show the banknotes. |
