I agree wholeheartedly! I think the lottery system is the best because I feel (whether this is true or not is open to debate) that it is a fair way for the people who want a given cel to have an equal chance of being able to get it for the price that is set by the seller. I approve wholeheartedly of putting some cels on auction. Often it is a way to move a cel more quickly, and I have both bought and sold on ebay. I agree with Parrallax that it is rather unpleasant to only sell your good cels on auction if you are a dealer, but one thing that I have noticed is that by putting cels on auction, you are attracting interest in your webpage. It can be great advertising. :) Many times I have seen a cel on ebay and not been overly interested in that specific cel, but gone to the webpage and found cels I wanted and ordered. It does little to help your word-of-mouth if a cel worth $200 goes for $700 (although you really have no control over that) in auction. I also agree that having a policy wherein auctions are implemented /after/ a price is stated are in my opinion not terribly fair. But then, life is not fair, is it? Maybe have some means of 'buying' a second chance in a lottery by offering an extra $25? If you win the lottery, then your price is higher, and if you lose the lottery you are not out anything. That way people who really really want a cel and are willing to pay more for it have a greater chance than people who only want to pay the stated price, but it is still fair for everyone. Just my 2 cents. Ryochan |
