I knew they couldn't resist selling for long, and I think
it still sucks.  You're right, they should either
auction the cel, or just sell the damn thing straight up.

It sucks the perspective buyers in, then shows them the
amount of interest that cel has generated.  Then they 
know they can make more money by auctioning it.  
Admittingly, its a good tactic if you want to soak
your customers dry.  Imagine if I did that with the
Ranma cels I got in?  I could be rich, but people would
probably hate my guts.  

This just suggests to me they don't care about anime fans
and just want to make as much cash as possible.  But it
is hard to argue.....because the goal of any business is
to make money.

All they are going to do is create more controversy.  
At least they are notifying you of your possible misery
up front.
