I hardly know how to say this.
First, let me say that I am SO sorry that Lizzard
has had damage. No type of home damage is easy
(we lost our electrical system to a fire once).
I'm also both thrilled that she did not lose her
collection, and in awe of the generosity of the
people who have set up this fund for her. It is
very obvious that she doesn't feel 100%
comfortable with being in this situation.
I don't mean to make her feel worse, BUT...
There is a part of me that is appalled that we
are doing a collection for someone who still has
a house, a hobby, and an internet connection
rather than the people who have NOTHING LEFT TO
SELL as a result of the hurricane.
They are the ones who need our help.
AGain, I don't mean this as a slam against
Lizzard or any of the fine people who are being
so generous. It is, after all, not your fault
that all you need to do is a costly cleanup from
tree damage. It's just... gee.
Sorry, I just had to get this out. |
